The Woman Caught In Adultery
This chapter discusses another problem with gospel accounts that has plagued theologians over the centuries - the record of the woman caught in adultery. The problem is that it is out of context in the Gospel of John and has raised serious issues among many if it really belongs in John, or in the scriptures, or if it really happened at all. This chapter takes you on a journey throughout the first three centuries after Christ and records of the earliest Christian historians, and follows corruption in the texts as well as the possible removal of this record from another synoptic gospel and reinsertion into John centuries later. The chapter also shows how the early church accepted other "gospel" accounts before they were later not recognized as valid scripture but accepted as early traditional thought. The quoting of these accounts from these early "gospels" does not validate their existence as god-breathed scripture but just recognizes the writings as early traditional thought accepted by some early Christian writers. This chapter offers evidence to prove the story of the woman caught in adultery was in fact - true.
